Lisbon and Berlin, 24th May 2024 – Rows, the collaborative cloud platform-based spreadsheet app, has just raised 8 million Euros in a funding round led by Indico Capital Partners and with participation from existing investors Cherry Ventures, Accel, Lakestar, Armilar Venture Partners and others. The company will use these funds to make data integrations even faster and easier, continue to enhance AI features, and expand its presence in its key markets: the US, UK and Europe.
Rows has built a world-class spreadsheet used by hundreds of thousands of users. It supports all the functionality expected from Excel and Sheets, while offering a unique layout, the world’s first AI Analyst, and native integrations. Renowned companies such as AWS, Hewlett-Packard, Prisma Media, and Mercado Libre rely on Rows for its seamless user experience, stunning charts, built-in integrations, AI co-pilot, and robust collaborative features.
Founded by Torben Schulz and Humberto Ayres Pereira in 2017, Rows aims to revolutionise how people use spreadsheets. With data increasingly stored in the cloud, business users often struggle to load, analyse, and share it efficiently. Rows addresses this by providing the fastest data import, an AI Analyst that helps extract learnings from data, and collaborative sharing features that make any spreadsheet presentation-ready.
Rows empowers business and marketing users to effortlessly connect to cloud tools, load data to a spreadsheet, and analyse and share it. Unlike Excel and Google Sheets, which require complex plugins and lengthy setups, Rows offers native integrations with a wide range of marketing and business tools. Users can build campaign reports or business dashboards in no time, with all their data present. Integrations include Notion, Facebook Pages, Facebook Ads, Instagram, TikTok, Google Analytics, Search Console, LinkedIn and many more, even connecting to a user’s own APIs. Rows also boasts the world’s first AI Analyst, which extracts insights from any data table through a simple interface. Additionally, Rows claims to provide the sleekest and most aesthetically pleasing spreadsheets, allowing users to give charts and calculation powers to Notion or any private or public website.
Humberto Ayres Pereira, co-founder and CEO of Rows, commented: “We are thrilled to complete this round with our new investor Indico, and to have continued support from existing investors Cherry, Accel, Lakestar, Armilar and others. We look forward to having Cristina Fonseca join our board with her invaluable experience in building successful SaaS businesses.”
Stephan Morais, Managing General Partner at Indico Capital Partners, adds: “The team at Rows is exceptional as is the product. We have been following the company from inception and the time is now right to step in and add our knowledge and network to enhance the product and expand sales massively at a global scale.”
The latest funding round is a testament to the innovation and growing demand for Rows’ unique approach to spreadsheets. With fresh capital and an impressive roster of investors, Rows is poised to accelerate its mission of transforming data workflows for business and marketing professionals. The platform's blend of robust data integration, AI-powered insights, and user-friendly design sets it apart in a crowded market. As Rows continues to expand its footprint across the US, UK, and Europe, it promises to redefine how businesses harness the power of data, making complex data tasks not just manageable, but seamless and intuitive.
