João has a unique way to explain complex technical issues in simple ways.

He covers the relationship with main Portuguese incubators and research institutes where technology-based innovations are often born, in the preparation of Armilar’s next generation of investments.

João has a BSc in Electrical Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico and an MBA from Universidade Nova de Lisboa, and started his carrier as University Lecturer with IST. João has previous experience in Management Consulting with Deloitte, Towers Watson, and Strategos, a leading innovation consulting player. He is a board member/observer of several Armilar portfolio companies, and plays a key role in the screening of investment opportunities, identifying those with the greatest potential to be invested by our funds.
